AmaZulu FC's executives were recently spotted with a stunning 4x4 bakkie worth around R800 000. Here's a look!
The story
Usuthu boasts a unique relationship with Mitsubishi South Africa, as the Japanese motor vehicle company is their official car sponsor since August 2021. As expected, the team has a number of rides at their disposal and it appears that their are not only limited to just a few models, but all of them it seems.
The one that has stood out more recently is the Mitsubishi Triton Xtreme, a 4x4 bakkie that is fitting for the tough KwaZulu-Natal terrain. Members of the club, led by president Sandile Zungu, attended the home of former Inkatha Freedom Party head Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi in Ulundi to pay their respects following the politician's passing.
At the parking zone, not a only a Triton Xtreme was spotted but also a Mitsubishi Pajero Sport. However the Triton took most of the attention thanks to his aggro-looking design, which comes with A-Line mag hazard wheels, Pirelli Scorpion all-terrain tyres, and a black bumper grille combo. Some experts in the automotive industry have suggested that this bakkie could rival the famous Ford Raptor
"For South African people a bakkie such as the complete Triton range is more than simply a practical vehicle – for many it is a status symbol that makes them stand out," said Nic Campbell, General Manager of Mitsubishi Motors South Africa, according to IOL.
He added that the Xtreme is "for owners with an extreme lifestyle at only a small premium over the existing 4x4 Auto flagship." The Triton Xtreme double cab is priced from R798 990
