WATCH: Khoza full of praise for hard-working Riveiro

Orlando Pirates chairman Dr. Irvin Khoza has heaped praise on head coach Jose Riveiro who has already clinched two trophies in just a season into his arrival.

Although Riveiro arrived on South African to a mixed reception and plenty of skeptics, the Spaniard has turned the Buccaneers into a force to be reckoned with, lifting the MTN8 and Nedbank Cup in his first season at helm.

The man responsible for bringing Riveiro has opened on some of the 46-year-old's quality tat make him a cut above the rest.

When asked why he the club chose Riveiro, Khoza explained that he was impressed by the Spaniards' silent, yet hardworking nature.

"Well he (Riveiro), taught me what I now talk about, the power of silence. You can see he is a modest person, he doesn't talk much," Khoza said at the launch of a multi-sports facility Lofentse Girls High School in Soweto on Wednesday.

"I remember talking about it to him, work hard in silence, let the results be your success. He is a hard worker behind the scenes but you won't see it because it's of a demeanor that is belying his fortitude, his attitude and his work ethic," Khoza added.

Having defeated Stellenbosch in their first leg of the MTN8 semi-final, Riveiro is well on his way to another MTN8 final and possibly a first trophy for the season.

The Buccaneers have also gradually found their footing in the DStv Premiership, having collected two wins from their last three matches after suffering a shock defeat on opening day.

Pirates currently sit on fourth spot in the log table and will face Jwaneng Galaxy in the second preliminary round of the CAF Champions League qualifiers on 17 September.
