Mosimane clinches second win on the bounce in UAE

Brazilian defender Lucas Pimenta opened the scoring after 35 minutes before late strikes by Cristian Guanca and Omar Khribin sealed the win over Emirates who featured Spanish legend Andres Iniesta in midfield.

The second leg will be played on September 14 when club football resumes after the international break with the aggregate winners proceeding to the quarterfinals.

The League Cup is the most recent piece of silverware that Al Wahda won having lifted the trophy in 2018 before finishing as runners-up the following year.

Mosimane has won one and lost one in the UAE Pro League so far as he gets to push his authority.

'Jingles' is in his third job in the Middle East since leaving South Africa having coached Al Ahly in Egypt before going across the Red Sea to Al Ahli Jeddah of Saudi Arabia.
