Chiefs' new additions given key advice

Kaizer Chiefs' new signings have been handed key advice by club legend Fetsi 'Chippa' Molatedi.

Chiefs unveiled six new arrivals in Pule Mmodi, Mduduzi Mdantsane, Given Msimango, Edson Castillo and Thatayaone Ditlhokwe - who was signed in January on a pre-contract agreement from SuperSport United.

Last season, head coach Arthur Zwane admitted that some players had struggled to adjust to the pressure that come with wearing the black and gold.

Ahead of the new campaign, Molatedi has offered a word of advice to new the signings on coping with the pressure.

"They [new signings] have to be themselves. They have to remember that they were signed because they are good players. They were signed because they were doing something right," Molatedi told KickOff.

"So that would be my advice to them, to just stay being themselves. Be consistent. There is pressure at all the big clubs and that won't go away. The new players have to just focus on their football and be consistent. That's the most important thing."

The new recruits could very well feature when Chiefs take on Tanzanian giants and CAF Confederations Cup finalists Young Africans in a pre-season friendly to be played on Saturday.

Amakhosi then take on Botswana side Township Rollers on 29 July, before returning to South African sire where they beginning their DStv premiership campaign against Chippa United on Sunday, 6 August at Moses Mabhida Stadium.
