African giants 'rehire' manager 8 days after sacking him!

It is reported that one of African football's biggest clubs has surprisingly rehired their former manager just eight days after sacking him.

Zamalek have made a big U-turn on Jesualdo Ferreira, who was relieved of his duties last Thursday after the team's loss to Ghazl El-Mahalla, which came in the midst of a poor run of form leaving them fifth on the league table.

Ferreira was then reportedly given the role of technical consultant at the club.

However, Zamalek president Mortada Mansour has since confirmed the Portuguese tactician's reappointment to the hot seat little more than a week after he was sacked from the position, with some changes to his backroom team.

"Jesualdo Ferreira returns to lead Zamalek on Thursday and a new fitness coach will be hired," Mansour said on Wednesday night, according to KingFut.

"I hope that the good relationship between Ferreira and [caretaker coach] Osama Nabih will return as it was previously, before the intervention of others.

"Nabih sent a message to Ferreira and telling him that he is waiting for him to lead Zamalek again for the interest of the club."

Per Ahram Online, Mansour suggested that some members of Ferreira's previous technical staff were partly to blame for his dismissal last week.

"Ferreira's foreign assistant coaches who sowed mistrust between the Portuguese coach and Nabih will not return to the team with him," Mansour told Zamalek's TV channel.

It is also understood that rehiring the 67-year-old was suggested by Nabih, who served as a caretaker coach following the Portuguese boss' initial departure, and Zamalek agreed to the recommendation on the condition that Ferreira returns alone, without his former assistants Rui Aguas and Daniel Goncalves.
