Arsenal made a winning start to their UEFA Europa League campaign in Group A after recording a 2-1 victory over FC Zurich on Thursday evening.
The Premier League giants decided to rest a few regulars, as new signings Fabio Vieira and Marquinhos got their first starts.
It was a dream debut for Marquinhos 16 minutes in as he got space in the six-yard area and stabbed home a cross from the left of the area and handed the Gunners the lead.
Fellow debutant Vieira nearly gave the visitors a second with a first-time effort from a cleverly worked pass into space, but he instead found the top of the net minutes apart.
The Gunners could've found a second before the closing quarter from a speculative strike on the edge of the area by captain Granit Xhaka, but it didn't reach target.

Zurich's confidence grew following the difficult start and levelled on the stroke of halftime when Mirlind Kryeziu finished from the penalty spot after a foul by Eddie Nketiah.
It was an encouraging start to the second half for the Gunners where Kieran Tierney picked up a low pass from Xhaka and fired a shot away which goalkeeper Yanick Brecher parried.
The Gunners maintained momentum and regained the lead over 12 minutes in the second half when Nketiah met Marquinhos' delivery in the area and headed in from close-range.
A trio of changes from Arsenal followed with 20 minutes to go in Zinchenko for Tierney before Marquinhos made way for Bukayo Saka and Odegaard entered ahead of Vieira.
Very little separated the two outfits, as the Gunners totally controlled the closing tempo of the match and secured the win in the end.
