Inter dent Barca's last 16 hopes with thrilling draw

Barcelona 3-3 Inter Milan 

FC Barcelona's hopes of reaching the last 16 of the UEFA Champions League took another knock after a six-goal thriller against Inter Milan on Wednesday night.

Ousmane Dembele broke the deadlock for Xavi's charges shortly before the halftime break but the visitors levelled matters five minutes from the interval courtesy of Nicolo Barella. 

Martinez put Inter ahead shortly before the hour-mark and after having a goal disallowed for offside, Lewandowski finally restored parity for the Catalans eight minutes before time. 

Robin Gosens made it 3-2 for the Italian side in the last minute but Lewandowski saved Barca's campaign with the equaliser in stoppage time and completed his brace. 

Viktoria Plzen 2-4 Bayern Munich 

Bayern Munich sealed their place in the last 16 with two games to spare in Group C after thrashing Viktoria Plzen 4-2 at Doosan Arena. 

The Bavarians raced to a four-goal lead ten minutes before the half-time break courtesy of a brace by Leon Goretzka and goals from Sadio Mane and Thomas Muller. 

Adam Vikanova pulled a goal back for Plzen around the hour-mark, Jan Kliment got the second goal back with 15 minutes remaining on the clock, however, Bayern held on to book their spot in the knockout phase with four straight wins. 

Rangers 1-7 Liverpool 

Mohamed Salah set a new record in the Champions League with the fastest hat-trick after Liverpool cruised to a 7-1 win over Rangers in Group A at Ibrox Stadium.  

Scott Arfield opened the scoring for Rangers on 17 minutes but Roberto Firmino restored parity for Jurgen Klopp's charges seven minutes later. 

Firmino gave the visitors the lead early in the second stanza and got his brace while on 66 minutes Darwin Nunez got Liverpool a two-goal buffer. 

Salah put the icing on the cake shortly after coming on for Nunez with a hat-trick within six minutes and 12 seconds and that was the fastest hat-trick in the history of the competition. 

Rangers were eliminated while the Reds need a point to seal a place in the last 16. 

Tottenham Hotspur 3-2 Eintracht Frankfurt 

Tottenham Hotspur climbed to the top of an open Group D after edging ten-man Eintracht Frankfurt in a five-goal thriller at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. 

Daichi Kamada gave Eintracht an early lead but Heung-Min levelled matters for the Lilywhites on 20 minutes, Harry Kane put them ahead eight minutes later and made it 3-1 nine minutes before the interval and got his brace. 

Eintracht were reduced to ten men on the hour-mark after Tuta got a second booking. However, the German side put up a fight as Faride Alidou pulled a goal back three minutes before time. 

Kane should have made it 4-2 for Antonio Conte's men in stoppage time but fired a penalty over the crossbar. 

Atletico Madrid 0-0 Club Brugge 

Club Brugge qualified for the knockout phase for the first time in their history after goalless draw against Atletico Madrid at Wanda Metropolitano Stadium. 

Brugge had a penalty decision overturned by the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) towards the end of the first stanza and had to complete the game with ten men in the last eight minutes after Kamal Sowah got a second booking and was sent off. 

Napoli 4-2 Ajax  

Napoli booked their spot in the last 16 with two matches to spare in Group A after drubbing Ajax Amsterdam 4-2 at Stadio Diego Armando Maradona. 

Hirving Lozano and Giacomo Raspadori gave Napoli a two-goal lead inside 16 minutes and Davy Klaassen reduced the deficit for Ajax early in the second stanza. 

However, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia restored a two-goal cushion for the hosts around the hour-mark. 

Steven Bergwijn gave the Dutch side hope after he pulled another goal back in the last seven minutes but Victor Osimhen sealed the deal for Napoli in the last minute. 

Bayer Leverkusen 0-3 FC Porto 

Porto increased their chances of reaching the round of 16 after thrashing Bayer Leverkusen 3-0 in Group B at BayArena. 

Galeno handed Porto an early lead and Kerem Demirbay had a penalty for Bayer on 16 minutes saves by goalkeeper Diogo Costa. 

Patrik Schick also had a goal for Leverkusen disallowed by the Video Assistant Referee (VAR). 

Mehdi Taremi scored twice for Porto in the second stanza from the penalty spot to put the game to bed. 

Sporting Lisbon 0-2 Marseille 

Marseille beat nine-man Sporting 2-0 to give their Group D campaign a major boost at Estadio Jose Alvalade. 

Ricardo Esgaio conceded a penalty for Sporting on 19 minutes and got his second booking, as the the hosts were reduced to ten men. 

Matteo Guendouzi broke the deadlock for Marseille from the resultant spot-kick and Alexis Sanchez doubled their lead on the half-hour mark. 

Sporting were down to nine men on the hour-mark after Pedro Goncalves got a second booking for misconduct.
