Haaland double maintains Man City's winning UCL start

Manchester City 5-0 FC Copenhagen

Manchester City continued their perfect start in Group G by thrashing Copenhagen 5-0, with a double from the red-hot Erling Braut Haaland.

Fresh from a hat-trick in the Manchester derby on Sunday, Haaland made the breakthrough on seven minutes when he finished off Joao Cancelo's ball and he made it two from a corner-kick later on.

An own-goal from Davit Khocholava compounded the Danish side's woes and handed City a third goal ahead of halftime and in firm control too.

City weren't done and continued their goal-scoring exploits as Algerian international Riyad Mahrez converted from the penalty spot after the interval.

The Citizens put the match beyond the visitors reach when Julian Alvarez tapped in from close-range and aided the host to an emphatic victory.

Real Madrid 2-1 Shakhtar Donetsk

Real Madrid maintained their perfect start in Group F in the UEFA Champions League and edged towards the knockout stages with a 2-1 win over Shakhtar Donetsk on Wednesday evening.

Madrid raced into an early lead courtesy of a well-worked finish by Rodrygo and Vinicius Junior doubled their advantage minutes later before Oleksandr Zubkov gave Shakhtar a lifeline.

Los Blancos were unable to add onto their tally after the break, with chances to Rodrygo and Karim Benzema specifically going astray but walked away victors nonetheless.

Chelsea 3-0 AC Milan

Chelsea secured their first win in this season's campaign after thumping Serie A giants AC Milan 3-0 at Stamford Bridge.

It is the Blues first win in the Champions League under new manager Graham Potter, as Wesley Fofana bagged the opener before Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang made it two after halftime.

Full-back Reece James put the game beyond the reach of the Italians with a clever finish to see the Blues second in the group and Milan third as the two meet again in Milan next Tuesday.

Benfica 1-1 Paris Saint-Germain

Paris Saint-Germain were unable to maintain their hundred percent start in Group H and played to a 1-1 draw against Benfica in Lisbon.

Argentine star Lionel Messi gave PSG the ideal start with a brilliant strike in the first half, but an own-goal from Danilo Pereira put Benfica back on level terms.

The Ligue 1 champions particularly had a host of chances to kill of the game through Messi and Neymar Junior notably, but good piece of defending from Benfica kept them at bay.

Juventus 3-1 Maccabi Haifa

Juventus collected their first win in the Champions League this season after seeing off Maccabi Haifa 3-1 at the Allianz Stadium.

The Old Lady have had an underwhelming start to this season's campaign, but grabbed the lead late in the first half through Adrien Rabiot and continued their dominance through Dusan Vlahovic.

The visitors brought a glimmer of hope through Dean David, but Rabiot calmed the nerves with his second to leave Juve third in Group H and Maccabi bottom.

Sevilla 1-4 Borussia Dortmund

Borussia Dortmund took full control of second spot in Group G following a dominant 4-1 victory over Sevilla.

Dortmund had their noses in front on six minutes through Raphael Guerreiro, as Jude Bellingham and then Karim Adeyemi made it three towards halftime.

The host earned a route back after the break through Youssef En-Nesyri, but Julian Brandt made sure of the points to leave Sevilla third and Dortmund second in the group.

RB Leipzig 3-1 Celtic

RB Leipzig got their first win in Group F and brought their campaign back to life in a 3-1 victory over bottom-placed Celtic.

Christopher Nkunku found the opener late in the first half, but Jota levelled after the break before a double from Andre Silva put the host clear.

Leipzig are now third in the group standings, three points behind second-place Shakhtar Donetsk with Celtic at the bottom.

Red Bull Salzburg 1-0 Dinamo Zagreb

Red Bull Salzburg brought their run of draws in all competitions to an end as a 1-0 win over Dinamo Zagreb moved them to the top of Group E.

It is the Austrian giants' first win of the campaign and the winner came towards the closing minutes from Noah Okafor, who fired in from the penalty spot to leave Zagreb at the foot of the table.
