UEFA Champions League wrap

Chelsea got their first win in the UEFA Champions League group stages after thumping FK Krasnodar 4-0 on Wednesday evening.

Summer signing Hakim Ziyech debuted for the Blues, who also gave Antonio Rudiger his first start of the season as Mateo Kovacic and Jorginho returned.

Jorginho had a chance to give the Blues an early lead from the penalty spot, but watched his effort saved by Krasnodar goalkeeper Matvei Safonov after a foul on Timo Werner.

Chelsea still went ahead before halftime through Callum Hudson-Odoi, who finished off a teasing delivery from Kai Havertz after good work from Ziyech.

The hosts were close to levelling ten minutes from halftime after Yury Gazinskiy's volley from a loose ball bounced off the ground before cracking the woodwork.

Frank Lampard turned to the bench and made three changes in Christian Pulisic, Mason Mount and N'Golo Kante. This worked wonders in the last 14 minutes as Werner finished off from the penalty spot after Pulisic went down in the area.

Ziyech made it three minutes later after linking up well with Werner before getting the ball off his feet to fire into the bottom-corner.

The icing on the cake came at the death when Pulisic pounced onto a square ball from Tammy Abraham to squeeze through the legs of Safonov to give the Blues a splendid evening.

Paris Saint-Germain recorded their first win in the UEFA Champions League group stages after a 2-0 triumph over debutants Istanbul Basaksehir on Wednesday evening.

Moise Kean led the French champions' attack following his brace over the weekend against Dijon FC, with Kylian Mbappe and Neymar Junior also in the mix.

Neymar was an early casualty though as an injury on 26 minute ended his evening, with Pablo Sarabia his replacement.

Following a goalless first half, PSG went ahead through Kean 64 minutes in as the Italian international pulled down to head in a corner-kick from Kylian Mbappe.

Kean made the result save inside the remaining ten minutes with a left-footed volley from the left of the danger area after landing onto Mbappe's ball, giving PSG their first win.
