Real Madrid star Eden Hazard sparked outrage among the club's supporters following Los Blancos' UEFA Champions League exit on Wednesday.
The record 13-time champions' hopes of adding another trophy to their cabinet were brought to an end after Zinedine Zidane's side suffered a 3-1 aggregate defeat to Premier League side Chelsea in the semi-finals of the Champions League.
Hazard, who scored 110 goals in 352 appearances during his time with the Blues, was an ineffective figure for Real throughout the second leg and sparked the ire of Los Blancos fans when he was seen laughing on the pitch with ex-teammate Kurt Zouma after the match.
A number of supporters were incensed by the Belgian star's actions and voiced their concerns across social media, while Josep Pedrerol, host of El Chiringuito, launched a lengthy tirade against him on the television show later that evening.
"Real Madrid are out of Europe as Hazard finds time to laugh and joke," a disbelieving Pedrerol said, per The Metro.
"Two years of making a mockery out of Real Madrid supporters, two years of being overweight... He is just another Gareth Bale. We are angry, we don't understand him. He cannot stay at Real Madrid for another second."
Hazard has endured an injury-plagued season in Madrid and Zidane's decision to start the three-time Belgian footballer of the year was widely criticised, with the manager himself admitting it would take time to see the forward return to his best.
"Eden has to play," Zidane said at a post-match press conference, per Marca. "He has to regain his confidence, little by little, by playing."
