Paris Saint-Germain's Julian Draxler 'surprised' and 'sour' after Real Madrid defeat

Argentina international winger Angel Di Maria was preferred over the Germany international, who led his country to the FIFA Confederations Cup title last year.

"I didn't really understand it," he told ZDF in reference Emery's decision to send him on in the 76th minute. "We had just scored the 1-1, but that goal was worth nothing.

"That's why I thought it would have been better to continue to attack and press forward. But I don't know what happened there. In any case, I was surprised and a bit sour.

"Overall, we just showed too little. That's why it's hard to accept we failed that miserably today."

Draxler has scored 14 goals and registered 12 assists in 62 games since joining the club from Wolfsburg in 2016.
