Former Italy international Antonio Cassano has accused Ronaldo of focussing more on achieving his own personal accolades than ensuring the success of the Bianconeri.
The 38-year-old was speaking to former teammate Christian Vieri on his Twitch show Bobo TV when he launched the scathing attack on the five-time Ballon d'Or winner, blaming him for the club's struggles under Andrea Pirlo and former boss Maurizio Sarri.
"If you sell Cristiano, there is €100 million with which you can sign a couple of top players," Cassano said, per Marca. "Last year, Sarri put into practice the best football in recent years and was fired.
"His problem was Cristiano Ronaldo. You can't have a coach who wants to play football with Cristiano Ronaldo and he's a brake for Pirlo. Cristiano only thinks about his goals and records.
"If you are president and want to start a new cycle, you cannot give a rookie coach the responsibility of managing someone like Ronaldo. Kulusevski, for example, is very influenced by him. Young people without personality face problems."
Ronaldo has scored 95 goals in 123 appearances since joining Juve in 2018 and was named Serie A Footballer of the Year in both 2019 and 2020.
