Two Man Utd stars blamed for Hojlund goal drought

Premier League's all-time leading scorer Alan Shearer has blamed two Manchester United stars for Rasmus Hojlund goal drought.

Following United's 2-0 defeat to West Ham United on Saturday, the Danish striker has now failed to score in 14 Premier League matches.

Shearer feels Hojlund has struggled to score due to United's wide players Alejandro Garnarcho and Antony not creating chances.

"Antony into Hojlund. Six passes in five games all season! Garnacho - five passes!," Shearer said on BBC Match of the Day.

"That should be happening per game. Never mind five or six games.

"Well, we can see what's drastically wrong and they're never going to score goals unless they improve on that."

Meanwhile, United legend Paul Scholes echoed sentiments and labelled Garnacho and Antony 'selfish'.

"The big worry for me is the centre forward," Scholes told TNT Sports.

"We can't create a chance for him. I know he has scored five goals in the Champions League but he hasn't got any in the league, he hasn't got a chance tonight and I don't think he had a chance on Saturday [against Bournemouth].

"It is a big concern, where the goals are coming from. You expect creativity from your wide players, Antony and Garnacho but they are quite selfish players.

"They aren't players who are looking up, they are players thinking about scoring their own goals, scoring themselves."
