The Catalan giants failed to sign Eric Garcia in the previous transfer window, with the defender set to become a free agent next year.
ESPN have reported that Barcelona will now make a another attempt to sign the Spaniard in the upcoming January transfer window.
However, the report adds the move can only open if the new club president gives his blessing, following Josep Maria Bartomeu's exit this week.
Barcelona manager Ronald Koeman confirmed earlier this month the club are still hoping to sign the 19-year-od
"There is a chance for sure that we are going to have another go for Garcia," Koeman said, according to Manchester Evening News.
"But right now I cannot know how the finances of the club are in January, so I have to wait and see."
