LaLiga match report Real Madrid v Huesca

A brace from Karim Benzema helped LaLiga leaders Real Madrid to a 4-1 victory over Huesca on Saturday afternoon.

Eden Hazard was given a rare start by Los Blancos, who also gave Marcelo, Eder Militao and Luka Modric a return from the comeback against Borussia Monchengladbach on Tuesday.

Huesca had a big chance to go ahead seven minutes from kickoff through Rafa Mir, but the forward strayed Pablo Maffeo's ball into the side-netting from a tight angle.

Los Blancos conceded more openings towards the half-hour mark and such picked the ball from their own net when Mir lobbed Thibaut Courtois from a one-on-one, but he was flagged for offside.

Hazard gave the hosts the front foot against the run of play five minutes before halftime after turning away from Kelechi Nwakali for a darting run and stunning finish past Andres Fernandez.

Madrid made it two in the last minute of the first half when Karim Benzema ran onto the far post to meet a ball from Lucas Vazquez to fire under Fernandez's outstretched arm from an acute angle.

Huesca started the second half with a double substitution in Javi Galan and David Ferreiro, who entered in place of Javier Ontiveros and Sergio Gomez.

Los Blancos extended their advantage nine minutes from the interval when Federico Valverde spotted an open space on the right side of the area to drill across Fernandez.

Huesca reduced the lead inside the last 20 minutes when Ferreiro met a cross into the area from Mir to send in a sliding finish from the near post after outsmarting Militao.

Zinedine Zidane's men restored their three-goal advantage in the added time through Benzema who charged goal-wards to head in Rodrygo's cross, as the contest ended.
