Outspoken and renowned journalist Mamadou Gaye has shared a candid prediction about the African clubs set to participate in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, including South Africa’s Mamelodi Sundowns.
Sundowns will represent the African continent alongside Egyptian giants Al Ahly, Morocco’s Wydad Athletic Club, and Tunisia’s Espérance de Tunis at the prestigious tournament.

The global club competition, which will be hosted in the United States, kicks off on June 14 and runs until July 13.
All four African teams will be aiming to make their mark on the world stage, with some set to face European heavyweights such as Manchester City, Juventus, Chelsea, and Borussia Dortmund, amongst others.
While many in the African football community have rallied behind the teams with messages of support, Gaye, famously known as the Assassin of Abidjan, holds a more skeptical view.
Gaye has openly stated that he does not expect Sundowns or the other African representatives to advance beyond the group stage of the Club World Cup.
"Let me tell you one thing, all four African clubs are coming back home after the first round," Said on SuperSport TV show Soccer Africa.
"I said all four are coming back home. You can see the dynamic already, Al Ahly, they hired a new coach, after the Club World Cup, he is gone. Esperance did the Same thing.

"I don't want to mention Wydad Athletic Club, you spoke about all the confusion there," he added.
"Mamelodi Sundowns, this coach will come back. If he's lucky to score a goal, they must renew his contract, all four are coming back home."
