It was 16-year-old Yamal who got the winning goal for the defending league champions, taking his tally to three goals and one assists in his last four matches.

Cubarsi, meanwhile, played a key role in the heart of the Barcelona defence throughout the game in his eighth appearance at the age of 17.

"Cubarsi is intelligent. He knows when to make a challenge and when not to," Xavi said, as per Football Espana.

"He has not lost a single duel tonight against stronger players. ", as per reports from Diario AS.

"Both he and Lamine were spectacular. Lamine with the goal, and Cubarsi with his calmness, he doesn't look like a 17-year-old."

Barcelona will now turn their focus to the upcoming UEFA Champions League round of 16 second leg against Napoli this week.
