Netherlands star Memphis Depay has now officially left FC Barcelona in favour of a move to a direct rival following an underwhelming spell at Camp Nou.
The 28-year-old has joined Atletico Madrid on a reported five-year deal following an unsuccessful 18-month spell in Catalonia, with the deal said to include "preferential but not compulsory purchase option for the player Yannick Carrasco", according to Barca's official website.

The Dutchman initially joined the Blaugrana on a free transfer from Olympique Lyon in July 2021, but then-Barca coach Ronaldo Koeman was sacked just four months after the player's arrival, a decision that heavily impacted Depay.
He started all 13 matches under the aforementioned boss, scoring four times and providing three assists, but Xavi Hernandez's arrival in the LaLiga giants' hot seat spelled disaster for the forward as he would be in the starting XI on only 13 occasions in 26 games across all competitions since, and had only featured four times this season.
