Lewandowski last month extended his contract at Bayern Munich until the summer of 2021 after netting 59 Bundesliga goals during his two-and-a-half years at the club.
However, his agent, Cezary Kucharski, has revealed that Lewandowski was also approached by an unnamed Chinese club and offered a contract that was worth over €40 million per season.
That is more than Shanghai Shenhua recently agreed with record signing Carlos Tevez.
"I was contacted by an agent who brings stars to China," Kucharski told SportoweFakty.
"The club name wasn't mentioned.
"If Lewy had decided to move to China, his salary would have been significantly higher than €40m, which means more than Carlos Tevez earns.
"Robert is not for sale right now, but I never say never. Life offers several solutions."
