Report: Premier League star arrested on suspicion of rape and false imprisonment

British publication the Daily Mail has reported that an EPL star, whose name cannot be revealed for legal reasons, has been arrested on suspicion of rape and false imprisonment following an incident that occurred last month.

Per the report, local authorities released a statement confirming that the footballer was arrested at his residence on Wednesday and has since been released, pending further investigation into the matter.

Both the player and the alleged victim have also been fined for breaking COVID-19 regulations.
