Dalot's stunner seals back-to-back Man Utd wins

Manchester United secured back-to-back victories in the Premier League with a 2-1 triumph away to Sheffield United on Saturday night.

Man United made two changes from their dramatic win over Brentford, as two-goal hero in that game Scott McTominay was recalled alongside Antony, who joined Bruno Fernandes, Marcus Rashford and Rasmus Hojlund in attack.

Sheffield gave the Red Devils a scare early on with nine minutes on the clock after Oliver McBurnie unleashed a diagonal shot was was parried at full-stretch by goalkeeper Andre Onana.

That set the tempo of the match, as Erik ten Hag's charges increased their tempo going forward and McTominay eventually broke the deadlock just before the half-hour mark with a low volley after he was left unmarked in the box.

Man United's lead lasted only four minutes as McBurnie levelled matters for the Blades from the penalty spot after McTominay was adjudged to have handled the ball in the box.

The Red Devils had two big chances to restore their lead just before the interval, as Fernandes had a cracking free-kick that clipped the crossbar and Hojlund was denied by shot-stopper Wes Foderingham from point-blank range.

Sheffield had a bright start in the second stanza but the Red Devils had a glorious chance shortly before the hour-mark after Hojlund went through on goal on a counter-attack but fired his shot straight at Foderingham.

Hojlund was eventually replaced moments later, among the withdrawn in a triple attacking change by Ten Hag, that saw Anthony Martial, Christian Eriksen and Alejandro Garnacho enter the fray in search of the winner.

The Red Devils started to pressurize Sheffield more and Diogo Dalot restored their lead 13 minutes before time with a curling shot past the diving hand of Foderingham in the top corner.

Man United waited for chances on counter-attacks in the dying minutes, as the Blades chased the equaliser and in the end clinched back-to-back wins that took them up to eighth on the table, six points off the top of the standings.
