The Red Devils visit the Merseyside giants on the back of a fine run which saw the side grab a spot in the FA Cup fourth round against Wolverhampton Wanderers in midweek.
"Of course it will be another big game for us and Liverpool as we know we are in a good run," Matic told his club's website.
"But it's a game to enjoy and compare our qualities with one of the best teams. I'm looking forward to that and I'm sure we'll be ready," he added.
With a hectic fixture list, United admits the need to be mentally astute to handle this tough scheduling which is normally in full swing at the start of February.
"It's been a busy run of games. In England, it's hard because we play every three days. But that's why this league has the best players and you have to be ready for that," he said.
In the league, United remain five points off fourth place Chelsea who went down to Newcastle United on Saturday evening.
"It's not easy but we need to be mentally strong, prepared and it's busy this period at the beginning of February we will have time to rest and we have to use that," Matic said.
United are the only side in the league that have managed to seize points off the runaway leaders this season following their 1-1 draw at Old Trafford in October.
