Man Utd avoid shock loss with dramatic comeback

Manchester United 2-1 Brentford

Manchester United returned to winning ways after they rallied from behind to beat Brentford 2-1 with two dramatic goals in added time at Old Trafford.

Man United manager Erik ten Hag handed Harry Maguire his first start of the league season alongside Jonny Evans, as two changes from their loss to Galatasaray in the UEFA Champions League.

Mathias Jensen broke the deadlock for the Red Devils just before the half-hour mark with a low strike that went under the dive and past the hand of goalkeeper Andre Onana.

United pressurized Brentford in the second stanza and Scott McTominay only changed the game in the last minute after he had a goal ruled out for offside by the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) in the last minute just after coming on.

McTominay eventually snatched the equaliser for ten Hag's charges in added time with a thumping shot in the box.

The Scottish midfielder remarkably clinched the winner for United deep in stoppage time and grabbed his brace with a header from close-range after a flick on by Maguire.

Burnley 1-4 Chelsea

Chelsea won back-to-back league games for the first time after coming from behind to thrash Burnley 4-1 at Turf Moor.

The Blues made only one change from their win over Fulham, as Raheem Sterling took the place of Mykhailo Mudryk, who scored against the Cottagers.

Burnley, who absorbed the pressure in the early stages, took the lead on 15 minutes from their first shot on target, as Bafana Bafana forward Lyle Foster burst through on goal and played Wilson Odobert, who found the back of the net with a strike across goal.

Mauricio Pochettino's charges levelled matters shortly before the break after Ameen Al Dakhil scored into his own net after he could not clear a cross by Sterling.

Sterling created the second goal for Chelsea early into the second stanza after he was brought down in the box by Vitinho, who conceded a penalty.

Cole Palmer took the responsibility of the spot-kick and gave the Blues a 2-1 lead.

Sterling gave Chelsea a two-goal cushion in the last 25 minutes with a clinical finish after a through ball by Conor Gallagher.

Nicolas Jackson made it 4-1 for the visitors with 15 minutes remaining after a composed strike in the box from a pass by Palmer.

Everton 3-0 Bournemouth

Everton won only their second game of the season after thrashing Bournemouth 3-0 at Goodison Park.

James Garner gave Everton an early lead and Jack Harrison doubled their lead eight minutes before the interval.

Abdoulaye Doucoure put the result beyond doubt with the third goal for the Toffees just after the hour-mark.
