Just days after lifting the 2019/20 Premier League trophy, newly crowned champions Liverpool have confirmed the sale of defender Dejan Lovren to Zenit St. Petersburg.
On Monday afternoon, the Reds confirmed that Lovren had joined the Russian Premier League side on a permanent transfer, bringing an end to his six-year stay at Anfield.
"Everybody at Liverpool Football Club would like to thank Dejan for his contribution over the years and wish him all the very best in his new challenge," the club said in an official statement.

Lovren becomes the fourth senior player to leave Liverpool this season, following the departure of Pedro Chirivella, who joined Nantes, and Nathaniel Clyne and Adam Lallana, whose contracts with the club were not renewed.
