Liverpool have now been strongly criticised for their "dangerous" statement aimed at the Professional Game Match Officials Limited (PGMOL) following their controversial match against Tottenham Hotspur.
Following the drama surrounding Luis Diaz's disallowed goal in the Reds' 2-1 loss to Spurs over the weekend, the Merseyside club released a statement in which they expressed their dismay at the decision made by match officials.

After the match, the PGMOL publicly admitted that a "significant human error" had been made, but the club later deemed the decision "unacceptable".
"... It is therefore unsatisfactory that sufficient time was not afforded to allow the correct decision to be made and that there was no subsequent intervention," the statement from Liverpool read.
"That such failings have already been categorised as 'significant human error' is also unacceptable. Any and all outcomes should be established only by the review and with full transparency."
The Merseyside club added that it would "explore the range of options available, given the clear need for escalation and resolution".
Reds boss Jurgen Klopp also expressed his frustration with the call, questioning why the referees were pressured into making the decision so quickly.
Former Manchester United defender Gary Neville has since criticised the club's response to the matter, insisting they have made "a mistake" with their "dangerous phrases".
"Jurgen Klopp handled the situation well last night after the game. Most football fans will have had empathy with what happened and recognised it was wrong!" the now-Sky Sports pundit wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter).
"However, Liverpool's statement tonight is a mistake! Talk of exploring all options (what does that mean!) and sporting integrity are dangerous phrases along with being vague and aggressive.
"Sorry we f****d up was enough! I said this last night. Sorry should be respected and not undervalued.
"This is a snap reaction that can always be wrong but I feel strongly about it."
