Jurgen Klopp slams Mohamed Salah's laser incident

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has expressed his displeasure at the lasers directed at Mohamed Salah during Egypt's penalty shoot-out loss to Senegal.

The Pharaohs failed to qualify for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar after falling to the African champions in a rematch of the Africa Cup of Nations final.

The Senegalese supporters pointed lasers in the direction of the Egyptian players during the shoot-out, with Salah failing to hit the target with his effort.

While this is not new to African football, Klopp was not pleased with the incident and praised Salah and Sadio Mane for their professionalism.

"Really happy for Sadio he could make it and really disappointed for Mo," Klopp said in a press conference.

"I don't think the situation around the penalty and the lasers was cool. They are both top professionals and will deal with it in the right way."

Salah and Mane will be back in action for the Reds on Saturday afternoon when they take on struggling Watford at Anfield.
