Eric Dier involved in fan fight following Spurs FA Cup loss to Norwich City

Following Tottenham Hotspur's FA Cup exit at the hands of rock bottom Premier League side Norwich City on penalties after 1-1 full-time scoreline Eric Dier was involved in a bizarre altercation by confronting a fan in the stands.

Jose Mourinho confronted the media after England international Dier jumped into the stands going directly to one fan and threatening to trade blows with him, after one of his family members was allegedly abused by the crowd.

The Portuguese mentor was clear about his feelings toward the situation, despite his concern with the 26-year-old's behaviour.

"This person insulted Eric, the family was there, the younger brother was not happy with the situation," Mourinho said during his post-match press conference, as per BBC Sport.

"I repeat we professionals cannot do it, but I repeat I am with the player and I understand the player. The fans were with the team until the last penalty kick that we missed."

"I think Eric did what we professionals cannot do but probably every one of us would do," the Spurs boss added.
