Chelsea are reportedly prepared to double Romelu Lukaku's current wages and make him one of their highest earners in a bid to secure his signature.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has claimed that the UEFA Champions League holders are preparing a third offer for the Inter Milan forward, one that will be a club-record bid for the prolific striker.

The Serie A giants have rejected two previous offers from Thomas Tuchel's Blues, but the London club is refusing to give up, and hope that a fee in the region of €120 million (R2 billion) will be enough to convince the Nerazzurri to sell, per Romano.
While Chelsea try to convince Luciano Spalletti's side to sell their marksman, they also seemingly have a plan to convince the 28-year-old of a return to London.
According to the Daily Express, in order to tempt the Belgian forward to return to Stamford Bridge, the Premier League club is ready to offer him wages of £12.8 million (R253 million) a year, which would see the striker being paid about £250 000 (R4.9 million) a week, said to be double what he is earning in Milan.
For the past few months, Inter CEO Beppe Marotta has rejected the idea of their talisman leaving, and abruptly told Mediaset last week that "Romelu Lukaku is untouchable for us this summer, absolutely. He's a key player for Inter."
However, new reports in Italy suggest that the club CEO now has a price tag he will accept for the player.
Per Rome-based newspaper la Repubblica, the Serie A giants are ready to accept a fee in the region of €150 million (R2.5 billion) for Lukaku, more than double the reported €74 million (R1.2 billion) they paid for him in 2019.
