Carabao Cup wrap 24 October 2017

Manchester United claimed a comfortable 2-0 win over Swansea City in what José Mourinho will hope is a sign that their poor spell of form has come to an end.

Jesse Lingard opened the scoring for United in the 21st minute after having been set up by Marcus Rashford.

In the second half, Lingard added a second goal to put the cherry on top and send United through.

2015/16 Premier League champions Leicester progressed with a 3-1 win over Leeds United.

Pablo Hernández opened the scoring for Leeds before Kelechi Iheanacho equalised.

The Foxes sealed the game in the second half through goals from Algerian duo Islam Slimani and Riyad Mahrez.

Arsenal needed extra time to see off Norwich City, but eventually prevailed courtesy of an Eddie Nketiah brace.

Norwich drew first blood through a Josh Murphy goal in the 34th minute. However, Nketiah scored a late equaliser for Arsenal to send the game to extra-time.

Here, Nketiah scored the winner to book Arsenal’s place in the quarter-finals.

Manchester City saw off Championship leaders Wolverhampton Wanderers on penalties.

120 minutes of football could not separate the two sides at the Etihad Stadium and the game went to a shootout.

Here, Claudio Bravo denied Alfred N’Diaye and Conor Coady to send City through.
