According to The Athletic, the Gunners have reached a final agreement with West Ham United over the transfer of Declan Rice, with the 24-year-old set to also become the club's most expensive signing ever.
The 43-time Three Lions midfielder is understood to now have been given the green light to undergo a medical as well as finalise personal terms with the north Londoners this week.
Ever since the Hammers skipper led the club their first European triumph by lifting the 2022/23 UEFA Europa Conference League, the 13-time Premier League champions have been heavily linked with the London native, and while it looked as though they could be pipped by Manchester City to his signature earlier in the window, Mikel Arteta and Arsenal pulled ahead of their rivals when they placed a bid of £100 million (R2.3 billion), plus £5 million (R118 million) in add-ons, for his signature.
The Citizens subsequently pull out of the race for the Chelsea academy player, and all that was left was for the record FA Cup winners was to decide on a payment structure with their English capital counterparts, which they have now done.

The fee agreed is more than the current British transfer record of £100 million the reigning English champions paid Aston Villa for Jack Grealish's services in 2021.
