Official: Bayern Munich confirm deal for Dayot Upamecano

With David Alaba reportedly set to leave the club on a free transfer, the Bavarians have wasted no time in snapping a replacement before the 2021/2022 season.

The Frenchman will join the UEFA Champions League holders on 1 July 2021 after the Bavarians triggered the defender's €42.5 million release clause.

Club's statement:

Dayot Upamecano (22, RB Leipzig) will move to FC Bayern München from 1 July 2021. The defender and the German record champions have agreed the terms of a five-year deal until 30 June 2026.
