The treble kings were up and running in the second half as Gnabry ensured a brace after firing home a loose ball from close-range following resilient play from Sane.
A fifth for the all-conquering Bayern came when brilliant ball control from Sane en-route to goal on 59 minutes released Gnabry, who side-footed in from the near post.
Schalke succumbed again in the last 20 minutes after a delightful reverse pass from Lewandowski landed to Muller who gladly fired through the gloves off Fahrmann.
Sane would get on the score-sheet too a minute later after running through the defence from the middle to find the near corner for a goal on debut.
It was eight nine minutes to full-time after Jamal Musiala managed to cut in from the right-side to fire into the bottom corner to become Bayern's youngest ever scorer at 17-years-old.
Bayern successfully wrapped up the match after running down the final minutes for a blistering start to the defence of their title.
