Two African stars reportedly escaped a potentially fatal shooting following a violent attempted hijacking in their European base.
According to French outlet RMC Sport, Olympique Marseille pair Faris Moumbagna and Jean Onana were victims of an attempted hijacking after their match against Le Havre on Sunday.

It is said the Cameroon duo were attacked on their way home from the club's training ground, with gunshots being fired at their car after the stars refused to step out of the vehicle, leaving bullet holes on the bodywork of the automibile.
Fortunately, neither player sustained any bullet wound, with the attackers reportedly fleeing the scene after firing at them.
The report notes that Marseille have been the target of criminals for quite a while now, with various past and present players having been robbed, including Jonathan Clauss, Vitorino Hilton, Andre and Jordan Ayew, Lucho Gonzalez, and Mario Lemina.

Both Moumbagna and Onana joined the Ligue 1 outfit in January this year, with the former signing a three-and-a-half year contract after joining from Bodo Glimt in a deal worth €8 million (R158 million).
The latter, meanwhile, joined the club on loan from Besiktas, with the French giants, who missed out on European football qualification for next season, have an option to buy.
Moumbagna was recently named in Cameroon's provisional squad ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers next month, but Onana, who has 10 caps for his country, missed out on this occasion.
