A Premier League cult hero, who is one of Benni McCarthy's ex-teammates and is still playing at the ripe age of 42, could now reportedly be set for a new challenge with a club in Africa.
Former Blackburn Rovers attacker Morten Gamst Pedersen has been a free agent since January this year, but according to SportBible, the player has received multiple offers for his services.

It is claimed that one of the clubs in the mix for his signature is an unnamed side from Senegal – interest that could see him represent a team from the continent for the first time his career.
With his sights set on a new challenge, the former EPL star stated, per SportsBible journalist Jack Kenmare, that he does "not think about the money".
The Norway international attained cult-hero status during his time at Blackburn, for whom he racked up 348 appearances, scoring 47 goals and providing 62 assists across all competitions.

The 42-year-old is also a former teammate of Bafana Bafana legend and Manchester United attacking coach McCarthy, with the pair played for the Blues and Whites between 2006 and 2010, recording 7 173 minutes together over the course of 113 matches.
After his nine-year stint at Blackburn, Pedersen spent a season in Turkey, where he represented Kardemir Karabukspor, before returning to his native country in 2014, playing for Rosenborg BK, Tromso IL, Alta IF, Asane Football, and Ranheim IL.

The Norwegian has also previously expressed an interest in joining Hollywood actor Ryan Reynold's Wrexham AFC, who were recently promoted to the EFL League One after finishing the 2023/24 season in second place on the League Two table.
