Algeria coach blames fatigue for Bafana draw

Algeria head coach Madjid Bougherra has reflected on his side playing to a 1-1 draw against Bafana Bafana on Friday evening.

The North African giants were unable to maintain their winning start to the African Nations Championship following the stalemate at the Mandela National Stadium.

The tactician felt the players had suffered fatigue despite their strong start to the encounter.

“The team showed some fatigue, but the most important thing is qualification. I am very proud of my players – they showed bravery and fought hard," he told reporters, as per CAFOnline.

Bafana coach Molefi Ntseki also praised his North Africans counterparts for their approach to the matches.

“Algeria have their own football identity and culture," Ntseki said.

"It doesn’t matter who is coaching, the team’s identity is clear. Congratulations to the entire Algeria team.”

Algeria currently sit top of Group C with four points, although they have played a game more than the South Africans.
