An Al Ahly star gas been sentenced to one year in prison for assaulting a rival player last season.
Hussein El-Shahat assaulted Pyramids player Mohamed Chibi following a 3-0 win over the African champions during back end of the Egyptian Premier League campaign.

Al Ahly had already been crowned champions but the game was bubbling with tension, which eventually spilled over after the game between the two sets of players.
According to KingFut, the Al Ahly midfielder was sentenced to one year in prison with a suspended sentence and a fine of 100,000 Egyptian pounds at Nasr City Misdemeanor Court on Thursday.
"The Nasr City Misdemeanor Court sentenced Hussein El-Shahat to one year in prison with a suspended sentence, a fine of EGP 100,000, and a five-year ban from membership in any club," the court ruling stated, as per KingFut.
The club had previously already fined El-Shahat for the incident, while the Egyptian Football Association also handed down a sanction before the court handed out their verdict.
