Benin secured their first win in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers after defeating Rwanda on Thursday night.
Benin started the campaign with a defeat to South Africa and a draw against Lesotho, while Rwanda drew with Zimbabwe and beat Bafana Bafana in their opening two games.
The breakthrough arrived eight minutes before the halftime break, with Doku Dodo firing past goalkeeper Fiacre Ntwari.
The visitors were unable to find a way back into the contest and were condemned to the first defeat of the qualifying campaign.
Despite ending up on the losing side, Rwanda remain top of Group C while Benin leapfrog South Africa into second spot.
Benin will be back in action next week when they host Nigeria, while Rwanda travel Lesotho on Tuesday evening.
Mali 1-2 Ghana
Ghana rallied from behind to record a 2-1 win over Mali at the Stade 26 Mars on Thursday evening.
Kamory Doumbia gave the home the advantage after finding the back of the net in the 45th minute.
The Black Stars restored parity just before the hour mark as Ernest Nuamah fired past goalkeeper Mamadou Samassa, before Jordan Ayew snatched the winner in the fourth minute of time added on.
The win sees Ghana leapfrog Mali into second place, level on points with leaders Comoros who have played a game less.
Egypt 2-1 Burkina Faso
Egypt made it three wins from three matches in the World Cup qualifiers after defeating Burkina Faso 2-1.
Liverpool star Mohamed Salah was back in the Pharaohs starting line-up for the first time under coach Hossam Hassan.
Salah's impact was immediate as he grabbed the assist for Trezeguet's opening goal in the third minute.
Trezeguet would go on to get his and the home side's second goal four minutes later.
The visitors did give themselves some hope after the halftime break, with Lassina Traore finding the back of the net to reduce the deficit.
Senegal 1-1 Congo DR
The Democratic Republic of Congo struck late in the second half to secure a point at Senegal.
The home side had to wait until the stroke of halftime to take the lead after Ismaila Sarr found the back of the net.
Congo, however, managed to bag the equalising goal with five minutes left on the clock through talisman Fiston Mayele's strike.
