Reports: No Zamalek deal on the table for Rulani

According to reports coming out of Egypt, Rulani Mokwena's representatives are understood to have cleared the air on rumours that the coach is set to join Egyptian Premier League giants Zamalek.

The South African gaffer parted ways with Botola Pro League powerhouse Wydad Athletic Club last month, a club he had joined at the start of the 2024/25 season.

Mokwena was tasked to guide the Red Castle to return to the CAF Champions League, however, he failed to live up to expectations and was let go three games before the season could end.

Despite the premature end to his stint in Morocco, Mokwena's coaching credentials remain respected, and he continues to attract attention across the continent.

Zamalek, who recently dismissed Jose Peseiro due to poor performance in the CAF Confederation Cup, have been rumoured to be in talks with the ex-Mamelodi Sundowns coach.

With Mokwena reportedly edging closer to joining the White Knights, Egyptian media has indicated that the representatives of the former Mamelodi Sundowns coach has reportedly dismissed these claims, saying Zamalek never made any formal offer to them.

"Zamalek is a big name in Africa and the Arab world, for sure," a source close to Mokwena's representatives told Kora Plus.

"However, we have not received any official offer and there has been no communication with Zamalek officials at the present time."
