Euro club pounces with 'R16M' move for Rulani talent

Rulani Mokwena could soon see one of his high-profile players leave the club, with reports indicating that a European club has submitted a formal offer for an MC Alger star.

According to Echorouk Online, the 23-year-old Algerian international is on the verge of joining Bulgarian side Levski Sofia from the Algerian Ligue Professionnelle 1 giants.

Bouras joined Alger in August 2024 from domestic rivals CR Belouizdad, who are currently managed by former South Africa's Betway Premiership outfit TS Galaxy coach Sead Ramovic.

The report has suggested that Levski Sofia have tabled an offer in the region of €700,000 to €800,000 (approximately R16 million) for the midfielder’s services.

Initially, the People's Club were reportedly reluctant to part ways with the player. However, after reviewing the financial terms of the proposal, the club has shown willingness to make the transfer happen.

Another factor influencing the decision is a reported 25% sell-on clause Mokwena's side would retain from any future transfer fee should Levski Sofia sell Bouras down the line.

Currently, Bouras is away on national duty with Algeria at the African Nations Championship. However, he has missed matches against both Uganda and South Africa due to injury.
