Chiefs main target 'closing in' on European move

A highly-rated Mali shot stopper, who has attracted interest from Kaizer Chiefs in recent months, has reportedly received an offer from a European side.

Kaizer Chiefs could miss out on yet another top target, with reports indicating that Turkish giants Galatasaray SK are in advanced negotiations to sign one of their reported priorities.

A report from Africafoot, Young Africans SC and Mali international highly rated goalkeeper Djigui Diarra is in talks with Galatasaray over a possible move ahead of the new season.

According to reports, Diarra is expected to part ways with the Tanzanian Premier League powerhouse at the end of this month as he looks to pursue opportunities elsewhere.

In recent weeks, several reports have linked Diarra with a potential switch to Chiefs, with the club's head coach Nasreddine Nabi keen on bolstering the club’s goalkeeping department.

However, it now appears the Glamour Boys are facing stiff competition, with Galatasaray reportedly emerging as the frontrunners to secure the 30-year-old's signature.

This development comes shortly after Chiefs missed out on another target, Stephane Aziz Ki, who opted to join Moroccan giants Wydad Athletic Club, one of Africa's representatives at the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup.

In addition to interest from Galatasaray, Diarra is also reportedly attracting attention from several Asian clubs, including Al-Kholood, Al-Okhdood, and Al Jazira.

Despite the widespread interest, Galatasaray are said to be leading the race for Diarra’s services, potentially leaving Chiefs disappointed once again in the transfer market.
