African club puts 'R40m' price tag on Bucs-linked striker

African giants Al Hilal have reportedly placed a hefty €2 million (approximately R40 million) price tag on a highly rated forward currently linked with a move to South African heavyweights Orlando Pirates.

Adama Coulibaly, who plays for Sudanese Premier League side Hilal, has emerged as a key target for several clubs across the continent, with the 19-year-old Malian drawing significant interest ahead of the 2025/26 season.

According to FootAfrica, the Buccaneers have been closely monitoring the youngster as they seek to bolster their attacking options. However, they are not alone in the race for his signature.

Tunisian outfit Esperance de Tunis are also in the hunt and have already submitted a bid believed to be worth €650,000 (around R13 million), according to the abovementioned publication.

In addition, the Saudi Arabian side Al Riyadh SC have reportedly tabled a higher offer of €685,000 (approximately R14 million) as they try to land the striker's signature.

Despite this interest, a fresh report from AfricaFoot claims that Al Hilal are holding firm on their valuation and have no intention of parting ways with the talented forward, who is under contract until June 2029.

The publication further reveals that Esperance's offer has been rejected, while Pirates are now considered unlikely to pursue the deal any further. This potentially clears the path for Riyadh SC to push ahead in their efforts to land Coulibaly.

With Al Hilal standing firm and Coulibaly’s stock continuing to rise, it remains to be seen whether any club will meet the Sudanese club’s selling fee.
