The competition is already serving up thrilling action, with no match ending scoreless so far.
With the winner of the trophy set to be decided on 30 August 2025, it remains to be seen whether a new team will get their hands on the prize or a previous holder will claim another title.
In its seven previous editions, CHAN has been won by five different countries.
DR Congo and Morocco share the record for the most titles, with two each.
Notably, Morocco are the only country to have won the showpiece consecutively, doing so in 2018 and 2021.
The last team to win CHAN was Senegal in 2023 under manager Pape Thiaw.
Other winners of the competition are Tunisia in 2011 and Libya in 2014.
Notably, no team from the Southern African region has ever won CHAN.
It is also worth noting that Bafana Bafana are making their third appearance at CHAN, having previously played in the 2011 and 2014 editions, with the latter as hosts.
