SuperSport United and Bidvest Wits in talks over swap deal for Fagrie Lakay and Phumlani Ntshangase

The former Santos player has signed a pre-contract with the Clever Boys, who have already signed Brandon Petersen, Prince Nxumalo, Sinethemba Jantjie and Phathutshedzo Nange on pre-contracts.

Lakay's contract with Matsatsantsa is set to expire in June and the Cape Town-born player has decided not to further his career with the Tshwane outfit.

According to information gathered by snl24.com/kickoff, Wits are trying to bring in Lakay now in Janaury in a swap deal that could see midfielder Phumlani Ntshangase secure a permanent move to Matsatsantsa. Ntshangase is currently on loan to SuperSport from Wits.

Lakay has confirmed that he is moving away from SuperSport to start new life elsewhere next season.

"You guys know better than I do. You should be telling me. Yes, the teams [SuperSport and Wits] are talking,” he said.

Lakay watched Sunday’s Absa Premiership match between SuperSport and Bloemfontein Celtic from the stands at Lucas Moripe Stadium.
