Shongwe previously told snl24.com/kickoff that he was surprised to hear that he was being released by the Chilli Boys due to cost-cutting measures at the club, but he has put it behind him and is ready to move on.
The former Mamelodi Sundowns and Bidvest Wits midfielder joined Chippa at the start of the season, but things did not quite work out for him as he only made six appearances in all competitions.
The transfer window closes next Thursday, so Shongwe is hoping everything will be sorted by then and he would have found a new club.
"I'm still waiting on my clearance. It's affected me because I have been waiting for about two weeks. Obviously I have to make a move, but I can't make a move because we have to settle everything. So I am still waiting, " the midfielder tells snl24.com/kickoff.
[It's taking long because] at some point they wanted me to come back, but there were some issues they needed to sort out. My manager is the one who can give you information."
The 28-year-old feels he has a lot to offer anyone who is willing to sign him.
"Yes, I don't give up. I know what I can offer."
