Chippa United release new kits ahead of 2020/21 season - PSL news

Chippa United and Monflair dropped their new kits for the 20202/21 season with the striking designs for their goalkeepers one of the main talking points.

Chippa are aiming to build on their 12th placed finish last season under Lehlohonolo Seema, who was roped in from Bloemfontein Celtic before the bio-bubble to save them from relegation.

Having shown promise with Celtic in his first foray into management, the Chilli Boys will be hoping Seema can continue his career trajectory and steer them to greater heights.

With a new coach and technical sponsor, there's a sense of optimism surrounding Chippa Mpangesi's side going into the inaugural DStv Premiership campaign as they went 'traditional' with their latest kit offerings.

"Our new technical apparel sponsors, MonFlair, carries fabric that is 100% polyester interlock with moisture management," the said in their kit launch statement.

"Also added in the design is the trendy touch with curves at the hemp of both the top and shorts. AmaXhosa is the white jersey represents Eastern Cape roots and culture.

"The sky blue jersey represents Pride of the province and ambitions of the team for this season. Red symbolises the team nickname (the Chilli Boys). This as well as one of the symbol colours from the Home of Legends."

Mpengesi added the bold new direction is paying homage to their decade anniversary: "In a year where we are celebrating 10 years of existence, it was equally important to place some fresh looks and ambitions for our brand.

"I am excited about the season ahead on and off the field; and will like to think that our fans will enjoy our new look."
