Max McMillan, 18, featured prominently for the Leeds' U18s this season and broke into their Premier League 2 squad but has not opted to drop down the English football league pyramid.
The teenage striker who's eligible to represent South Africa has put pen to paper on a two-year contract with an option of a third and will join up with their U-21 development squad.
"Fleetwood Town are pleased to announce Max McMillan has joined the club from Premier League side Leeds United," the club statement read.
"McMillan has ties to South Africa through his father and has voiced that he would like to play for Bafana Bafana in the future, with the South African Football Association aware of his eligibility from his time at Leeds."
McMillan's final month at the prestigious club saw him earn the Goal of the Month award in their academy set-up.
