Al Ahly forward Percy Tau's future at the club has remained in the balance, and now KickOff has established reasons for the delay in negotiations for a contract renewal, with Kaizer Chiefs reported to have shown interest.
Tau's contract with the Red Devils is set to expire at the end of June, with Amakhosi having shown interest, according to Soccer Laduma.
The concerns around the future of the Bafana Bafana international went up a notch after former Al Ahly star Ahmed Abou Moslem was quoted by almawq3.com saying the relationship between the player and head coach Marcel Koller "has reached a dead end".

However, this website did their own digging and established that the relationship between Tau and Koller has remained professional despite even early reports that the two had a fallout after the former Mamelodi Sundowns forward missed three consecutive games following their CAF Champions League match against Simba.
According to reliable sources, Koller is described as a strong coach who can handle his own players, but an informant revealed to this publication that Tau was "upset" after he was substituted in the league game against Baladeyet El-Mahalla, before Al Ahly's Champions League final first leg against Esperance.
KickOff has been led to believe that the reason why there is a delay in the contract negotiations between Tau and Ahly is that Koller suggested to wait until the end of the season before making his decision on whether Tau is in his plans for next season.
This, according to our source, is due to the 30-year-old's proneness to injury this current season.
Another sentiment from sources in Egypt is that the South African has not been consistent with his performances.
This publication has gathered that the Red Devils also did not want to disturb their Champions League campaign and will only hold talks with Tau's agent after the second leg of the final.

'The Lion of Judah' is not short of suitors, as a return to Mamelodi Sundowns and Europe are mooted as some of his options, should the two parties not come to an agreement over a new contract.
