Molefi Ntseki provides update on his Bafana Bafana technical team

Bafana Bafana interim coach Molefi Ntseki has provided an update on the process of finalising his technical team for their upcoming friendly international.

Bafana are set to face Zambia in a friendly clash in Lusaka on September 7 as they look to pick up from where they left off at AFCON 2019 and build some momentum headed towards the 2021 AFCON qualifiers starting in November.

Ntseki has taken the temporary reins following Stuart Baxter's resignation last month, but the main question at present is who will be assisting the former Amajimbos mentor?

"It's very important for me to say to all South Africans and all the coaches that have gone through the SAFA courses and UEFA courses, the content is very important, but the relation is also important," said Ntseki.

"We also need to bring in someone who will be helping the association to take the second phase of 'Vision 2022' forward. Currently we are working on that.

"Initially I wanted to have a bigger pool of coaches that will be helping me, because I feel Bafana Bafana is huge, so you need more heads and brains to make everything workable.

"But as for the technical team, currently we are still in the process of talking to people that we think can come in, and we're also looking to have some kind of a mentor because you need a voice of reason – someone who will come in not from a very pressured zone.

"If we were to present a profile of any player we want to bring in, we need to have somebody experienced and who has been in the game for long.

"For now, we can't come up with exact names of people who will be in the technical team, but in due course you will be made aware of [the candidates]."

Ntseki also confirmed his intention to run for the permanent hotseat of the senior national team, having garnered over 20-years of coaching experience at the lower levels.

"As for the head coach [position], now that I'm seated here I think my hand is also up," he declared.
