Bafana Bafana secure friendly replacement for Zambia

SAFA have confirmed a replacement for Zambia, who this week called off their scheduled friendly international against Bafana Bafana.

Bafana will now face COSAFA rivals Madagascar in a friendly bout scheduled for Saturday at the Orlando Stadium in Soweto.

This comes after Zambia withdrew from their scheduled fixture, which was set to take place at the Heroes Stadium in Lusaka on Saturday afternoon (15h00), due to the ongoing Xenophobic attacks across South Africa.

The FA, however, have moved swiftly to secure a replacement against a formidable Barea outfit that featured at the recent Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt, where they were knocked out in the quarterfinals of their maiden appearance.

The 96th-ranked nation will now travel to Johannesburg, with Bafana fans being afforded an opportunity to see the national team play on home soil for the first time since November last year, when they played Paraguay in the Nelson Mandela Challenge in Durban.

Molefi Ntseki's side will also face Moroka Swallows in a training match on Wednesday morning.
