Manousakis, who was McCarthy's assistant at Cape Town City, started his new job today after resigning from his post last week.
snl24.com/kickoff has gathered that McCarthy was in Cape Town for the December holidays and managed to convince his former colleague to join him in KwaZulu-Natal.
According to sources, the deal was completed last week Friday.
"Manousakis has arrived in Durban, he has completed a two-and-a-half-season contract with Usuthu, joining Benni McCarthy as his first assistant," a close source reveals.
"The deal was agreed last week and Vasili handed in his resignation from Cape Town City on the same day."
Cape Town City appear to have moved quickly to replace Manousakis with former Bafana Bafana captain Aaron Mokoena, who is set for his first coaching job in the DStv Premiership since retiring.
